What to do when you find a Python in your Washing Machine

July 21, 2008

Ah..Yikes. Eww. What would you do if you found an 8 foot Python snake in your washing machine? That is just the scenario a woman in Gorham was faced with late last week. As she went in to pull our her laundry, an eight foot slithery snake peeped it’s head out of her washing machine. Quickly, she shut the lid and called animal control and the police. Had I been in her shoes, I’m sure I would’ve fainted on the spot! Luckily the woman at the clarity to trap the snake and call in the experts.

In the event that you find yourself eye to eye with a python or any other unwelcome animal in your  home here is a link to the Maine Animal Control Centers around the state: http://www.state.me.us/agriculture/aw/ACOs.shtml

What’s a Buyers Agent & Do I Need One?

July 16, 2008

What is a Buyer’s Agent?

A Buyers Agent is a real estate agent hired to work in the best interests of a buyer in a real estate transaction. The agent’s loyalties are with the buyer. It is the agent’s duty to share any information about the property or sellers that may help the buyer make decisions regarding the transaction.

Do I need a Buyer’s Agent?

In short. YES, because the listing agent or seller’s agent by law has a fiduciary duty to their client, unless you have a buyer’s agent on your side, you will be left to fend for your own. Some of the duties that a buyer’s agent performs are:

  • UpholdBuyer Confidentiality
  • Locate Properties based on your Needs
  • Prepare & Present Offers
  • Disclose Information Relevant to a Transaction
  • Arrange for water, sewer, and radon Inspections
  • Provide professional Advice Throughout the real estate transaction

The relationship between a homebuyer and his or her buyer’s agent must be based on trust, mutual goals and understanding. The buyer entrusts the buyer’s agent with putting his or her interests first and foremost.
